Turning education into adoption, and adoption into careers
Founder and program lead, DeFi Diplomas - a community education program for emerging markets.
DeFi has an access problem before it has an adoption problem. In emerging markets especially, the barrier isn't that people don't want financial tools - it's that the tools assume knowledge, trust, and context that first-time users don't have. Protocols pour money into acquisition and wonder why users churn. The missing layer is education: not marketing, but genuine understanding that turns a curious first-timer into someone who trusts a product enough to keep using it.
I built DeFi Diplomas to prove that education is a growth lever, not a cost center.
I founded and ran the program end to end - curriculum, partnerships, speakers, and delivery.
Convened the ecosystem
I brought together 16 founders and senior leaders as speakers, across Celo, Base, Lisk, Mento Labs, GoodDollar, and more - including Celo co-founder Rene Reinsberg, Mento Labs CEO Markus Franke, HaloFi's founder, and team members from Base and Lisk. Getting people at that level to show up for an education program, repeatedly, is itself a demonstration of ecosystem trust.
Built the curriculum
14 structured courses covering the full arc a new user needs: blockchain basics, stablecoins, Layer-2s, DAOs, risk, and real-world DeFi use cases - deliberately sequenced to take someone from zero to confident participant.
Delivered to 500+ participants
With a focus on making DeFi practical and trusted for users in emerging markets - the exact audience most protocols struggle to reach and retain.
The proof isn't the attendance number. It's what happened after.
Participants didn't just learn - they converted into active community members, contributors, and in the strongest cases, industry operators. One graduate who came through the program went on to a senior role driving Mercuryo's growth in Africa. That's the whole thesis made real: education builds trust, trust drives participation, and participation compounds into an ecosystem that grows itself.
This is the lens I bring to every adoption problem: the fastest way to durable growth in a hard market isn't louder acquisition, it's earned understanding.
